Milling Barn Wedding Photography August: On Saturday I photographed Claire and Mike’s wedding at Milling Barn (http://www.millingbarn.co.uk/ ) near Buntingford in Hertfordshire.
I arrived at the brides home to capture some of the getting ready before heading to Milling Barn where the hair was being done and then putting the dresses on etc. The forecast was for high winds and gales, with possible rain showers. I was working alongside my good friend Steve from Simply Wedding Movies (http://www.simplyweddingmovies.co.uk/). My aim was to capture lots of reactions and natural, fun photographs along with a few more traditional wedding shots.
After the short journey I arrived at Milling Barn at Bluntswood Hall which is a beautiful barn wedding venue in Hertfordshire, located near the rural village of Throcking, close to Royston. Milling Barn is a stunning wedding venue in the rolling Hertfordshire countryside.
I caught up with Mike the groom and the groomsmen for a few photographs.
The bridal party were now getting ready in the bridal suite.
Kay from Sister Sax (http://www.sistersax.co.uk/) was performing during the wedding reception.
During the drinks reception I captured lots of natural shots as well as few group photographs the couple had requested. The forecast was correct, it was windy (50mph gusts) and there were a couple of showers.
The forecast also promised us the wind would drop by around 7pm and the sun would appear, so we saved the wedding portraits with the couple for the best part of the day weather wise.
It wasn’t long before they cut their cake and had the first dance. Dean from Lovelight Entertainment (http://lovelightentertainment.co.uk/) was the DJ who I’ve known for years.
There was also a little surprise for the couple as Kay (Sister Sax) returned to play some Ibiza club tunes on her Sax.
The evening also bought us a dramatic sunset!
I had a lovely day with Claire and Mike, it was also fun working alongside Steve, Kay, Dean and also the great team at Milling Barn.
