I arrived at the family home on the afternoon of the wedding where the bride and bridal party were getting ready. It was a dry, sunny, but chilly December day.

I then took the short journey to Maylands Golf Club and caught up with the groom and his best men. We managed to get outside, although it was a little bit fresh.

It wasn’t too long before the bride arrived in a lovely camper van provided by V-Dub Rides (https://www.vdubrides.co.uk/). Being a 4pm ceremony in December, the daylight was just fading.

After the ceremony we did pop outside for a couple of photographs, as the couple really wanted some photographs with the camper van.

Then we warmed up and had a few family group photographs during the drinks reception.

It was then time for the wedding meal followed by the speeches.

Once the dance floor area was cleared ready for the evening party, we had a very quick opportunity to take the big group photograph.

This was followed by the cake cutting and first dance. The entertainment was provided by Eternity Events (https://www.eternityeventsessex.co.uk/).

I had a fun day with Leisha and Les, and it was also good to see a few familiar faces at the wedding, as I photographed another family wedding for them in 2012.

Shendish Manor Wedding Photography

I arrived at Shendish Manor near Hemel Hempstead on the morning of the wedding where the bride and groom where both getting ready in the hotel. It was a very cold, but dry day with some sunshine forecast. Again very lucky as the previous day was rainy!

The guys were downstairs ready for some photographs, they were in military dress.

We then headed to the ceremony which was taken by Jeanette (humanistceremonies.org.uk).

We ventured outside for one big group shot, it was rather cold, so all the family group photographs were taken indoors.

I then took the couple around the gardens for a few wedding portraits.

It was then time for the wedding breakfast, followed by the speeches.

I had a great day with Tish and Craig, and being my first wedding at Shendish Manor, was really pleased with the pictures we took.

Wedding Photography at The Bristol Hotel
January 5, 2016 on 5:59 pm | In - Featured Weddings, - Weddings, Winter Weddings | 1 Comment | Author Dean RobsonWedding Photography at The Bristol Hotel: On the last week in December I photographed this wedding for Hazel and Andy at The Bristol Hotel in the city centre of Bristol. Occasionally I am asked to travel to shoot weddings, and whenever possible, I do enjoy doing this. The weather up to the wedding had been a bit mixed, but on the day stayed dry, not too cold for the time of year and the sun even made an appearance.

I met up with the bridal party on the morning of the wedding where they were all getting ready at The Bristol Hotel. The hotel itself is situated right on the waterfront by the Bristol harbour and docks. Pero’s Bridge links both sides of the dock.

The bridal party had a vintage bus to take them to the ceremony.

The bus took us the short journey to The Bristol Registry Office on Corn Street where the ceremony was due to take place.

After the ceremony we had a few photographs in the street outside the registry office before returning to the hotel conference centre for the reception.

I took the couple for a few romantic photographs outside by the harbour.

There was even an opportunity to get a sunset.

After the wedding breakfast the couple cut their wedding cake (made of cheese!) and had their first dance.

As the harbour-side is lit up at night we couldn’t resist having a couple more photographs!

I had great fun shooting Hazel and Andy’s wedding, and it was lovely to return to the city that I grew up in.
