The Mecure Noke Hotel Wedding Photography 2017: On Saturday I photographed Kerry and Ben’s wedding at the Mecure Noke Hotel (https://www.mercure.com/gb/hotel-A0I1-mercure-st-albans-noke-hotel/weddings.shtml) in St Albans, Hertfordshire.

I arrived at the brides home in the rain, but the forecast was for the rain to lift and remain overcast and cloudy. From a photography point of view cloud is actually a good thing as it produces soft light and less shadows. My aim was to produce lots of candid and natural photographs as well as few of the standard wedding photographs. I try to build my service around the couples requirements and they decide on how much natural photography they would like. I try to be relaxed in my approach and make sure I’m not obtrusive as I want everyone to enjoy the day.

I then took the short journey to The Noke Hotel in St Albans.

It wasn’t long before the bride arrived.

After the ceremony there were reception drinks in the bar area. After lots of natural candid shots, I then invited everyone outside for a few group photographs as it was dry.

After taking all the group photographs I then took the couple for their wedding portraits.

There was quite a heavy shower after the speeches and I managed to capture this lovely rainbow!

The evening reception took place in the marquee and it looked amazing!

There was also an opportunity to get a sunset photograph in the overflow carpark. I had a lovely day with Kerry and Ben, and their friends and family!

Hunton Park Summer Wedding Photography 2017: On Thursday I photographed Justine and Maxwell’s wedding at Hunton Park (https://www.huntonparkhotel.com/) near Watford, which is now run by Mecure.

After the very wet weather we have had, I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at Hunton Park and the sun was shining.

As you arrive up the sweeping driveway surrounded by 22 acres of magnificent rural Hertfordshire parkland, a charming Queen Anne Mansion House comes into view. With its classic Georgian proportions, tall white columns, and impressive marquee, Hunton Park, Hertfordshire creates a dramatic air of style and elegance: the perfect setting for your special day. For almost 190 years the house has seen a number of colourful landowners, lords, and ladies pass through its high-ceilinged rooms.

I met up with the girls as they were getting ready. I was working alongside Steve and Mark from Simply Wedding Movies (https://www.simplyweddingmovies.co.uk/) who I do quite a few weddings with. They are fantastic videographers and I happily recommend them!

It wasn’t long before the groom arrived.

The ceremony was taking place in the Orangery which is bright and perfect for weddings.

After some group photographs and lots of candids of guests, we took the couple for their wedding portraits.

The couple then cut their wedding cake and had their first dance.

There was also an opportunity for a sunset/dramatic sky photograph, or two…

I had an amazing time with Justine and Maxwell, and it was fun working with Steve and Mark too. Carol and the team at Hunton Park really looked after everyone, and I can’t wait to come back again soon!

Hunton Park Winter Wedding Photography 2017: On Friday I photographed Mary and Tony’s wedding at Hunton Park (https://www.huntonparkhotel.com), in Kings Langley near Watford, Hertfordshire. This was my first wedding of the year. The weather forecast was warning for severe icy and snowy conditions.

Although it was snowing on my journey to the venue, within an hour or so the sky’s cleared and the sun came out.

The bride and bridesmaids were getting ready in one of the many conference rooms in the main house.

I then met up with the groom and his grooms men. We took advantage of the dry weather with a few photographs in the gardens at Hunton Park.

It wasn’t long before the ceremony started in The Orangery which is a beautiful setting for this.

We popped outside briefly for the big group aerial photograph.

After some candid shots, I asked the couple if they would like their romantic wedding portraits outside. As it was still dry although a little bit cold we had a quick photo shoot in the gardens.

We had the family group photographs indoors, in The Orangery.

After the wedding meal, it was time for the speeches.

Once the evening guests had arrived, the couple cut their wedding cake and had their first dance.

I had a lovely time with Mary and Tony, and wish them the very best for their future together!
